BYO Bag (Bring Your Own Bag) – Ulster County recently enacted a law to phase out single use plastic bag at retail centers. This county is the first in NY to pass this type of law. It will be phased in starting July 2019. BYO Bag is designed to get the help consumers to start now by selling bags designed and constructed by the elders of the community. They will be marketed to supermarkets and other outlets with the company logo. Sewing and painting groups will be formed to help elders network with other individuals. Profits will go to the elders to help with financial support for this at-risk group
